After months of training our very own Lee Hawkes together with three of his close friends will be taking part in ‘The Kilworth Challenge’; a gruelling 2 day charity event.
During the 2 day event each of the 45 participating teams will walk a course of some 30 miles… Now for the challenge!! At various intervals (approximately every mile!) Lee and his team will be expected to perform a team challenge. These challenges will range in difficulty and type from obstacle courses and crossing lakes to mentally taxing word games and puzzles all testing the 4 man team’s physical and mental ability.
They have been training hard, enduring long runs, gym sessions, many sudoku puzzles and colour by numbers tasks to ensure they will finish as high in the rankings as possible.
This year all money raised for the Kilworth Challenge will go towards the following charities:
An Outdoor Activity Centre, based in Beeley, in the heart of the Peak District National Park and the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, providing group accommodation and outdoor adventure activities for young people of all abilities.
Leicestershire Clubs for Young People (LCYP) is part of a national organisation, which aims to provide opportunities for its members to realise their full potential and thereby become the responsible citizens of tomorrow.
